>Surigao del Sur and Catigbian, Bohol


Visitors from the second district of Surigao del Sur, comprising of at least 85 officials from the municipality of Tagbina and Bislig including barangay officials, expressed appreciation the way officials here hosted them during their study mission on August 10.
      Facilitated by the Provincial Agriculture Office, the group’s first stop was at the Municipal Hall where Catigbian Mayor Roberto Salinas, Vice-Mayor Necita Digaum and some municipal officials welcomed them. 
      The pick-and-pay demonstration farm and the most modern livestock center were the points of interest of the visiting group in this fourth class municipality.
      Then, the group also toured to the best pamilihan OTOP Center where they bought kosahos, new health center and the Material Recovery Facility.
      Madam Margie, the wife of Surigao del Sur Second District Congressman Florencio Garay, who hails from Pangangan, Calape, Bohol, escorted the group with the vice mayor of Tagbina.
      The visitors said they visited this municipality to observe the programs on poverty reduction and, indeed, they learned so much from the programs and how municipality managed it.
      Salinas shared how Catigbian evolved from just a sleepy town into a progressive place, saying “unity and cooperation among our people and the municipal officials and employees is the key to our development and progress”.
      An official of Tagbina appreciated the way Catigbian officials entertained them, saying “we feel very welcome here”.
      The Provincial Agriculture Office had informed the host officials that another batch of visiting group from the same district of Surigao del Sur will be visiting the municipality.
