Pinoy NPA Rebel Surrenders to Philippine Government

Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Secretary Hermogenes C. Esperon Jr. is here Friday for the ceremonial turnover of former rebels’ documents to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) provincial office.

Negros Occidental Governor Isidro Zayco said joining the Secretary is Undersecretary Pedro Cesar C. Ramboanga Jr.

The turnover will be held at the Governor’s Hall at 10 a.m. Friday. Also an awarding of the Local Social Integration Program will highlight the turning over ceremony.

Peace message will be delivered by Police Superintendent Rosendo Franco, Brigadier General Josue Gaverza, Jr. and Lt. General Pedro Ike Inserto, Commanding General of the Central Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), respectively.

In his letter sent to Zayco, Ramboanga said that the national government under the Peace Process office has launched the Social Integration Program (SIP) for former rebels who are desirous to go back to mainstream society.

The program is the government’s thrust for peace and development in the country.
