>Find Out Alay Lakad Top Donors


Top donors in last year’s walk-for-a-cause will be awarded today during the Alay Lakad 2008 program at the CPG Sports Complex.
Gov. Erico Aumentado and City Mayor Dan Neri Lim will give the recognition, to be assisted by Rotary Club of Upper Tagbilaran president and executive committee chair Walter Moreno Lim, Tagbilaran City School Division OIC-Superintendent Norma Solis Varquez and City Local Government Operations Officer Mardonio Tirol Roxas.
Total collection from last year’s activity amounted to P160,028.05.
To be recognized are the University of Bohol CWTS, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School, Central Visayas State College of Agriculture Forestry and Technology – Tagbilaran City Campus (2006-2007), DepEd Tagbilaran City Schools Division, Bohol Electric Cooperative – I, Cebu CFI Credit Cooperative, Department of Education – Division of Bohol, Holy Name University, Philippine Nature Foundation, Alturas Group of Companies, Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol, Department of Public Works and Highways – First Engineering District, Bohol Quality Corporation, Bohol Light Company, Inc., Bohol Water Utilities, Inc., Development Bank of the Philippines,  Englewood Hospital, and First Consolidated Bank.
The official candidate for the Miss Alay Lakad 2008 selection will join the walk as muse of the group she is representing. She will wear sports attire – shorts or tennis skirt with blouse and rubber shoes with socks to match. 
Top three winners – Miss Alay Lakad 2008, First Runner-up and Second Runner-up – will be determined based on beauty (beauty of face, complexion, poise and bearing) and money. Ranking system will be used with equal consideration on beauty and money.  
Special awards like Miss Photogenic, Best in Sports Wear, Best in Modelling, Darling of the Crowd, Miss Dunkin Donuts, Miss HBC, etc. will be given based on the decision of the judges selected by the committee.
Raising of funds will start at 4 p.m. simultaneous with the start of walk from all four starting points. Any amount will do. 
Funds will be received by the authorized City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) employees who are members of the 2008 Alay Lakad Finance Committee.
Turnover of collected donations will be done at the CPG Sports Complex upon arrival of the groups. Proceeds will go to the 2008 Alay Lakad Funds. 
Alay Lakad 2008 committee members Fiel Angeli E. Araoarao-Gabin, City Information Officer, and Rotarians Louelle Gulle – Bantol and Joy Suarez are the coordinators. 
During the presentation, the ladies will introduce themselves, make a few poses and a quarter turn. Coronation and awarding rites will follow.
All groups will start walk at 4 p.m. Group 1 composed of national agencies will start from the new City Hall. Provincial government offices comprising Group 2 will kick off from the Booy Elementary School.  Business establishments belonging to Group 3 will start walk from Villa Alzhun, while the City Government offices will come from the Lim Cua Juanay Cockpit Arena (formerly Col. Dede Salrada Cockpit Arena).
The Best in Uniform, Most Colorful Group, Most Lively Group and Most Creative Group will be awarded to the deserving groups. (Fiel Angeli E. Araoarao – Gabin)
