Cruise Ship in Bohol, Philippines

Two luxury cruise ships are expected to call port in the island resort of Boracay during the first quarter of this year, this was confirmed by Caticlan Jetty Port administrator Nieven Maquirang.

With the development, Maquirang will be conducting a series of meeting next Sunday with concerned government agencies involved in the preparation for the big event like the Maritime Industry Authority, Department of Tourism, Philippine Tourism Authority, local government unit of Malay and other stakeholders .

Maquirang said the cruise ship MS Columbus 2 of Hapag Lloyd Cruises is expected to call Caticlan Jetty Port in February 24 while MS Europa, also of Hapag Lloyd Cruises will also follow suit with its expected arrival sometimes in March this year.

The successful visit of a Carribbean cruise ship carrying more than 2,500 passengers aboard in October 27 last year led to this series of visits to be made by other cruise ships in this world-renowned island resort off mainland Malay, Aklan.

In an initial information received by the office of Caticlan Jetty Port administrator, the cruise ship will be sailing from Metro Manila and Bohol on its way to Boracay Island before proceeding to Palawan, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
