Cooperative Forum in Talibon Bohol

Even before Governor of Bohol Erico Aumentado mandated the creation of Municipal Cooperative and Development Council, Talibon had already came up with its own version Kagawad  Virginia Item as chair.

Regularly the MCDC of this town had it’s monthly meeting attended by the 33 big and small cooperatives together with the line agencies like the  Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare and Development and Land Bank.

Because MCDC-Talibon is very active in cooperative activities it This encouraged CDA specialists Nesa Cagulada to hold a cooperative forum in Talibon last Sept. 5 at Carlos P. Garcia Cultural Center. This was attended by 248 delegates from the 1st  2nd districts towns  of Bohol.

Welcoming the guests and participants was  Mayor  Juanario Item. He invited the guests and participants to visit the interpretive center that narrated the story of Danajon double barrier reef.

Talibon is the only municipality throughout the Philippines to have an interpretive center. Talibon is the only first class municipality in Bohol.

The introduction of participants was done by Cooperative Development Specialist II Victoriano Digal.

CDA mediator Mario Limbaga discussed a topic on alternative dispute resolution. He said that there are 240 cooperatives in Bohol ordered for cancellation. The reason behind cited was the  delinquency of in the payment of dues and mismanagement of officers. – Sunday Post
