Civil Service Commission (CSC) Award in Region 10

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region 10 is the recent recipient of Outstanding Accredited Agency award by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) region 10.

Other awardees in the said category are the Central Mindanao University (CMU) in Musuan, Bukidnon; Land Transportation Office Region 10; Local Government Unit of Quezon, Bukidnon; and Local Government Unit of Don Carlos, Bukidnon.

They were heralded as such for having complied the CSC policies, laws and rules in the processing of quality appointments of personnel. Also in the good maintenance of orderly and updated personnel records, timely submission of required reports, full implementation of issuances and programs from CSC and support to CSC-instituted programs.

In a grandiose awarding ceremony held last September 29 at Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City, Regional Director Quirino M. Libunao led the DILG-10 office in receiving the award.

Director Libunao is extremely proud of this award as this shows the competence and effectiveness of the entire DILG-10 workforce, especially in its continuing drive to promote good governance in all local government units.

Another feat for DILG-10 was the awarding of its HRMO Ms. Rosario O. Pelaez as one of the Outstanding Human Resource Management Officer awardees in the region. She received the award along with other outstanding HRMOs, namely: Ms. Haidee Helena F. Garcia from Central Mindanao University, Mr. Cristino R. Tabal from LGU of Quezon, Bukidnon, and Ms. Antonieta R. Guevara from LGU of Don Carlos, Bukidnon.

During the program, separate taped messages from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and CSC Commissioner Ricardo L. Saludo were aired wherein they congratulate the awardees and honorees.

President Arroyo underlined in her recorded message that public service and people are important links in the society. She recognized the role of the public servants as the ones working for the aspiration of the nation. She urged others to strive in replicating the moral, responsiveness and integrity of public servants nationwide.

Earlier, Atty Lourdes Clavite-Vidal, Regional Director of CSC-10, in her message stressed on the better public service being given by the government workers today. She pointed out that despite of the “adversaries in life”, government workers are still able to stand and now the outstanding workers in the government are recognized. She said that by working together, everyone can move forward to our destinations.

Also given recognitions that day were Ms. Gena Q. Piedad from Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology of Claveria, Misamis Oriental as Gantimpala Agad awardee; the CSC-10 loyalty awardees; and winners of the quiz bee and table tennis competitions.. Certificates of recognitions were, too, given to agencies which had supported and participated in all the CSC-10 activities.
