Christmas Bonus and Cash Gift for Iloilo Employees

Although it’s still a month away, Iloilo Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. is already assuring the more than 2,200 permanent employees of the capitol that they could receive their Christmas bonus and cash gift.

Tupas, said that in case there will be a circular providing for the extra cash gift, he would still be willing to give more to the employees just to make their Christmas really meaningful.

The governor’s assurance is given despite that he has still no 2008 executive budget.

He said though that since the provincial government is operating under the 2007 reenacted budget then the Christmas bonus and cash gift are included in it.

He also said that they have a big surplus in income that the provincial government can afford to give the Christmas bonus and cash gift.

Half of the Christmas bonus and cash gift have also been given to the employees last May 1 so they would be receiving the other half not later than Nov. 15.
